Let the Sun Shine from Within

Solar Plexis

When you feel the sun inside you, especially on days when the outside doesn’t shine brightly, it's a way to say hello to the sun and let it warm your soul.

The days are shorter and darker as the winter approaches, and a time when we feel less energetic. We can feel how powerful the sun is to our body, mind, and soul when there is less of it outside to embrace.

That is why it is so important to remember that even during the darker days of fall and winter, the sun is still there, shining, as beautiful as ever. Just because it is hidden behind clouds or setting early where we live doesn’t mean we can’t access its power, beauty, and warmth.

Let the sun shine from the inside out

One way to do this is to find a cozy place in your home to sit or stretch out in peace. Be mindful of being in the moment.

  • Let go of the stress of the day.

  • Relax and close your eyes while you allow the breath to come and go with ease. Continue to lengthen each inhale and exhale until you feel relaxed, peaceful, and warm.

  • Imagination is a powerful way to design the perfect setting for a warm summer day with the sun shining brightly and warming your whole body.

It may feel as if a small sun has taken up residence in your heart or in the area of your solar plexus chakra. Don’t think about which one too much; simply trust your body knows where it is. Spend some time just experiencing this sensation, allowing the heat to radiate from inside your body.

Chakras and their meaning

Solar Plexus Chakra

If you live in a part of the world that loses a lot of light in the winter, you may want to do this exercise at night before bed. You could also begin each day by allowing yourself to plug into that great energy source. Keeping the sun inside you when you are missing it on the outside is a way to say hello to the sun and let it warm your soul.

The solar plexus plays an essential role in our spiritual and personal development. Your solar plexus sits above your navel in your upper abdomen. In anatomical terms, the solar plexus is the network of sympathetic nerves in the abdomen. Its location is behind the stomach, and the purpose of these nerves is to supply the abdominal organs with information. The solar plexus’ power is transformation. This energy center contains qualities like confidence, strength, determination, and personal power. Its function is to ignite your inner fire and unleash your full potential and personal power. Ancient yogis believe that fire purifies all past karmas, resulting in an awakening of pure consciousness.
